Abstract

This article analyzes the photographic archive of the Confederação Nacional do Comércio de Bens, Serviços e Turismo – CNC, based on data collected through the application of an archival diagnosis. The analysis provides data relating to the current reality of this archive based on a survey of information about its trajectory as a documentary set alongside instances of institutional production. The article briefly presents the trajectory of the producer and the body that holds the archive, to inform about the main characteristics of the photographic documentary set. Next, we move on to consider the diagnosis process and its main contributions to understanding the current documentary situation. Based on the information gathered, the article reflects on the management processes responsible for the current characteristics of documentation, proposing new approaches to the material, highlighting activities already carried out and in the execution phase, based on the best practices recommended for the treatment of photographic archives.
