Abstract

This article addresses management in permanent archival services (administrative units responsible for archival functions aimed at permanent archives). It seeks to identify a set of elements mobilized for planning, organization, direction, and control of typical functions to be executed within the scope of a permanent archival service in the Brazilian archival scenario, such as institutional archival policies (guidelines), process regulations (rules, norms, models, or applicable references), and management tools (technical and control instruments). Methodological procedures encompass the use of qualitative exploratory research, the inductive approach method, bibliographic research on a Brazilian digital platform of scientific articles authored by nationals published between 2012 and 2022 and the combination of the indicial paradigm and internet “browsing”.
