Abstract

This article is related to the Photography Archive on and about Margot Benacerraf, which is under the custody of the Margot Benacerraf Audiovisual Foundation in Caracas, Venezuela. The article describes: what the Photography Archive is, how it is structured, and who Margot Benacerraf was. The article develops the following aspects: Description of the Collection, how it was created and its growth over the years, its organization, storage, conservation, and access.It is in the Foundation’s interest to make the Photography Archive known to students, teachers, researchers, and anyone interested in the life and work of filmmaker Margot Benacerraf, a pioneer of cinema in Venezuela and Latin America, both within and outside the country. We face a great challenge ahead, which is to ensure the continuity of the organization in identifying, preserving, and disseminating this important legacy for future generations.
