It presents the role played by the National Forum of Archivology Associations of Brazil (FNArq) for the national associative movement, considering the crisis scenario experienced in 2014, when it was created. The context and background of his training is presented, which includes the foundation of the first professional association of archivists, the Association of Brazilian Archivists (AAB), and the creation in 2006 of the National Executive of Regional Archivology Associations (ENARA), the first entity to congregate the regional associations of Archivology. The actions developed by FNArq in defense of archivists and for the development of the area in the professional and political sphere are listed: organization of the National Archival Congress (CNA); representation of archivists in the National Archives Council (CONARQ); contestation of the Bill Law 2.606/2015, which would “deregulate” the profession and of the Bill Law 7.920/2017, the “PL Queima de Arquivo”, among others. It concludes with the perspectives of the forum's performance and the need for greater adhesion by the archivists.
